Tomatoes: Planting to Preservation
A two-part program titled "Planting to Preservation" is being hosted by Purdue Extension - Washington County. The 2015 program focus will be on Tomatoes. On Tuesday, April 14, Richard Beckort, Ag. & Natural Resources Extension Educator in Jackson County, will present a program on tomato selection, planting, care, possible problems and harvesting. The April 14 program does not have a limit on the number of attendees and will be from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Meeting Room on the lower level of the Wash. Co. Gov. Building (806 Martinsburg Rd., Salem). The Saturday, July 11 program will be from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm and will include both classroom and hands-on preservation of tomatoes activities. The program location is to be determined. Class size is limited for the July 11 program is $15 per person.
